About the Position:

Hiring for a Power Controls Engineering Lead, to serve as the primary technical authority for engineering within the Team. The Controls Engineering Lead is also the senior technical mentor for the company, ensuring consistency across the engineering approach and practices, helping to enable the company’s high reliability and availability service.


Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or 20+ years of industrial/utility engineering experience and experience with automation and control systems, e.g SCADA systems.

Certified Automated Professional/Certified Control Systems Technician preferred NETA/NICET Certified (ETT Level II or higher) in electrical equipment testing

Advanced understanding of industrial control equipment (metering, protective relaying, relay ladder logic, Programmable Logic Controllers - PLCs and HMI’s)

Experience in preventative and predictive maintenance of power distribution and control equipment. Experience to include installing, maintaining, testing, & repairing circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, and similar electrical equipment

Strong Field and Design experience in the below in the following categories: Advanced Instrumentation & Controls circuitry analysis. Advanced Power circuitry analysis. Hands on Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC or PAC) integration, multi platforms. Medium Voltage Switchgear cabling and wiring design. Medium Voltage Switchgear Controls Integrations, including Protection Relays, multi platforms.

Competency in computer operation for engineering design programs (i.e. AutoCAD).

Knowledge of electrical power distribution, switchgear controls, system grounding designs, and a strong understanding of all applicable/associated National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements of these systems.

Knowledge of low & medium voltage transformers, switchgear, and power/control systems.
