About the Position
The company is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to support team. This role is ideal for a senior-level estimator with 20+ years of general estimating experience, including aviation and mega project exposure. The Senior Estimator will lead conceptual and detailed estimates, manage and mentor a team of estimators, and serve as a key liaison between project management, clients, and other stakeholders.
This is a full-time, on-site position, requiring a proactive, detail-oriented individual with a firm but respectful approach to estimate reconciliations and change order negotiations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop conceptual and detailed estimates across multiple scopes of work
- Lead and manage estimating teams; train junior estimating staff
- Review and assess cost proposals and change order requests for merit
- Evaluate labor rates, markups, and productivity against contract standards
- Verify material pricing using R.S. Means and other industry benchmarks
- Interpret contract documents and modifications to define scope and cost implications
- Reconcile estimates between contractors, internal teams, and third-party evaluators
- Maintain consistent and clear estimate change reporting
- Compile and analyze historical cost data for future use
- Collaborate with project management and other departments to ensure alignment and accuracy
Requirements
- Minimum 20 years of general estimating experience, with a focus on mega projects and aviation
- Extensive knowledge of Progressive Design-Build and CMAR delivery methods
- Proficiency with large-scale estimating software and industry tools
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex estimate reconciliations and change order negotiations
- Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Results-oriented with a self-starter attitude
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Strong command of various estimating software platforms and cost databases
